On Thursday, April 12th BAM toasted its milestone 150 year anniversary with the BAM 150th Anniversary Gala. The landmark event, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase, raised over $1 million for BAM and received support from a range of renowned artists including John Turturro, Trisha Brown, Debra Messing, Q-Tip and Philip Glass.

The celebration kicked off in the early evening as over 550 guests gathered for cocktails and dinner in an expansive tent adjacent to the historic BAM Peter Jay Sharp Building. Decor designer Fleurs Bella collaborated closely with the BAM Archives integrating BAM archival documents throughout the event space including photographs, slides, posters and video projections, illuminating BAM's rich history.

At the dinner table guests tested their BAM knowledge at BAM 150th Anniversary trivia while taking a trip back in time with the evening's entree - a twist on the dish served at the BAM Cenntennial Gala Banquet at the Hotel St. George in Brooklyn, 1959.

Following the dinner, guests made their way across the street to the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House for a rollicking concert from New Orleans legend Dr. John.  The revelry continued at the Bourbon Street After Party back in the tent with the artists, complete with hurricane cocktails, beignets, beads and the Cupid Shuffle on the dance floor.
